Wauconda teen gets lifesaving award

A Wauconda teenager has been honored by the McHenry County sheriff’s office for saving a stranger’s life last month. Megan R. Ringel. 16, received a Citizen’s Lifesaving Award, the highest honor a citizen can receive from the sheriff’s office. On Aug. 16, Megan was at a friend’s house in McHenry when she performed CPR on a man in the neighborhood who wasn’t breathing, police said. Rescue personnel arrived and transported the victim to a hospital. He survived, police said.
