Hinsdale Central, Buffalo Grove 1-2 in Peoria

Senior Billy Magnesen (14:36) finished second individually at the First to the Finish Invite at Detweiller Park in Peoria on Saturday, powering Hinsdale Central to a dominating performance in winning the title with 60 points in the 45-team field.

Magnesen won the Hinsdale Central title last week, and he stayed in the zone on Saturday, combining with senior Kevin Huang (14:50) and freshman Blake Evertsen, who took fifth and seventh, in leading the Red Devils.

Calvin Kraft (14:36) of Fishers, Ind., won the individual title by nipping Magnesen.

Sophomore Kevin Salvano (15:00) and his senior brother Steven (15:10) finished ninth and 14th in propelling Buffalo Grove to a second-place team finish with 183 points. Sophomore Tom Cleary (15:21) aided the Bison run with a 30th-place finish.

Junior Ryan Clevenger (14:44) and senior Zack Smith (14:45) went 3-4 in pushing Downers Grove North to third place with 192 points.

Senior Nick Vucovich (15:17) took 22nd place for Fremd, as the Vikings finished 16th.
