Would opinions differ if Bush were president?

Isn’t it amazing how hawks become doves and doves become hawks in our crazy world of politics? I would venture to bet that if Bush were still president there would be an almost 180-degree reversal of people’s opinions on what the country should do with Syria. I’m sure Richard Cohen, the Herald’s ultra conservative journalist, would not be saying that America’s right is going through one of its “periodic bouts of lunacy” in suggesting that America should stay out of the Syria mess. Is there any way that we could all agree on the answer to the question of what would be the best solution to the problem?
