Training for librarians:

The Waukegan Public Library is partnering with several groups to host a session on Thursday, Sept. 19, to train area librarians on immigration issues. The event is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library, 128 N. County St., Waukegan. Uniting America and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Services are working with U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services to provide the training to all librarians and library staff in Lake County. It is as part of a statewide effort to provide more resources and services to the growing immigrant community. Training will be provided on citizenship, naturalization, fraud prevention, available resources and more. For information, call (847) 623-2041 or visit www.waukeganpl.org.
