Loverde, Fabbri lead Mundelein
Mundelein’s girls golf program continues to make gains, and the Mustangs were at it again Wednesday.
Cristina Loverde and Courteney Fabbri fired a 37 and 38, respectively, leading Mundelein to a school-record 166 and a North Suburban Conference win over visiting Warren (173) at Countryside Golf Course.
Lorrielle Martin added a 43 and Holly Petlak carded a 44 for the Mustangs.
Warren received a 41 from Erica Price.
Stevenson d. Vernon Hills: At Crane’s Landing, Nikki Marquardt and Alexia Fidman each shot a 39 to tie for medalist honors and lead the host Patriots (170) past the Cougars (191) in North Suburban action.
Surya Vijayasanka had a 44 and Stephanie Namkoong chipped in a 48 for Stevenson.
Katherine Koczwara carded a 45 for Vernon Hills.
Carmel d. Marian Catholic, Joliet Catholic: At Woodruff Golf Course in New Lenox, the Corsairs improved to 7-0 and 4-0 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.
Carmel (182) received 45s from freshman Erin Kehoe, sophomore Kayla Ryan and senior Abbey Carpenter. Sophomore Eva Savovich contributed a 47 for the Corsairs.
Marian Catholic had a 198, while Joliet Catholic withdrew.
Libertyville d. Grant: At Antioch Golf Club, Emma Hoskins’ match-best 38 helped the visiting Wildcats (166) earn a North Suburban win over the Bulldogs (213).
Libertyville also counted Jessica Lovinger’s 41, Simone Mikaelian’s 42 and Tressa Freberg’s 45.
Kirsten Bank shot a 42 for Grant.
Lake Forest d. Lake Zurich: At Deer Path Golf Course, Emily Young carded a 41 and the Scouts (178) picked up the win over the visiting Bears (200).
Aine Mattera’s 46 paced Lake Zurich.
