Wisconsin bow deer season set to open this month

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin’s bow hunters can start going after deer in a little more than a week.

The state’s early archery season is set to open on Sept. 14. That season will run through Nov. 21. The only interruption will be the two-day statewide youth hunt on Oct. 5 and Oct. 6.

The late season will run from Nov. 23 through Jan. 5.

Last year 263,852 bow hunters took to the woods. They killed 94,267 deer. Both of those totals are up from 2011, when 255,426 hunters took 90,200 deer.
