Buffalo Grove woman killed in Route 83 crash
A 47-year-old woman from Buffalo Grove was killed Thursday evening following an accident on Route 83 in Long Grove, authorities said.
Jeewon Kim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lake County Coroner's Office, said Coroner Richard Rudd Friday.
He added the woman's daughter — Minju Park, 16, — was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center following the crash where she is “doing well.”
Sgt. Sara Balmes of the Lake County Sheriff's Office did not release any additional details regarding the accident Friday, except to say no citations have been issued at this time.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office said via a news release Thursday night that a red 2007 Ford F-150 and Kim's 2011 blue Honda CRV had collided at Route 83 and Westmoreland Road in Long Grove at about 6 p.m. Thursday.
Park was a passenger in the Honda and was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with life-threatening injuries.
The male driver of the Ford also was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center, but Balmes did not release information regarding his condition.
