Naperville to notify neighbors of special events

The city of Naperville plans to make an effort to notify homeowners associations when special events are planned for their neighborhoods and invite them to recap meetings held once the events are finished.

Veronica Porter of the Westside Homeowners Organization, representing residents between Washington Street, the DuPage River and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks, said the Last Fling festival held over Labor Day weekend extended its hours to 11:30 p.m. instead of 11 p.m. without residents knowing.

She asked to be included in conversations prior to and following festivals held in or around her neighborhood to make sure residents are aware of possible traffic or noise disturbances.
