North’s new radio show kicks off Sunday morning

For the first time in six years, radio veteran Mike North will have a sports talk show on a Chicago station.

North returns to the local airwaves on Sunday with the “Mike North Pregame Show” from 10 a.m. to noon on WIND 560-AM The Answer, and he’s welcoming some familiar Chicago names to the football-focused show.

Former Chicago Bears and Notre Dame player Chris Zorich will join North each Sunday to talk about the NFL, along with popular Chicago comedian Kevin Bozemanand radio veteran Dan Levy, who co-hosts “The Abe Kanan Show” on Sirius/XM radio.

“It will be a good mix,” North said. “Zorich is a South Sider and I’m a North Sider, but we’re both Chicago guys with opinions.”

North said the show won’t feature interviews with players or coaches and instead will be caller intensive.

“We’re going to be on at the same time and the same place every Sunday regardless of when the Bears play. We’re going to be the place to go before the games,” North said.

North’s other broadcasts for FoxSports radio and XM247 are featured in over 300 markets, but not in his home town.

“It’s great to be back in the Chicago market,” he added. “I know all the sports stations in town are doing well, but a lot of people tell me ‘we miss you’ and I’m excited to talk with the fans. The competition is very stiff, but we’re going to have fun, some levity and make it an enjoyable experience.”
