Grundy County board member running against Senger in congressional primary
A member of the Grundy County Board says he will announce that he’s running in the Republican primary for the 11th Congressional District.
Chris Balkema put out a news release Thursday saying he will announce his candidacy on Tuesday in North Aurora. Balkema is a manager at Caterpillar and has worked at the company for nearly 20 years. He describes himself as a fiscal conservative. He faces Republican state Rep. Darlene Senger of Naperville in the GOP primary.
The seat is currently held by Democrat Bill Foster of Aurora.
