At least one killed in Route 83 crash
The Lake County sheriff's office has confirmed that there was one fatality in an accident on northbound Route 83 at Westmoreland Road near Long Grove.
The victim has been identified by the sheriff's office as the female driver of a 2011 Honda CRV. The sheriff's office said the woman died at the scene.
The sheriff's office issued a news release saying that at approximately 6 p.m., a red 2007 Ford F150 and the blue 2011 Honda CRV collided in the intersection.
A female passenger in the Honda was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with life-threatening injuries.
The male driver of the Ford also was talen to Advocate Condell Medical Center.
The coroner's office will provide the identity of the deceased driver pending family notification.
