Motoring at the Museum AND Plein Air Art

Combining two favorite fall special events this year, the Arlington Heights Historical Museum will host Motoring at the Museum car show and Plein Air Art with artists all around the grounds and at the car show painting on easels. The combined event will be held Sunday, September 22, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Raindate is September 29.

All vehicles are welcome: Classics, Muscle Cars, Trucks, Street Rods, and new this year – Motorcycles! Vehicles may enter the commuter at the corner of Fremont and Vail. Prizes will be awarded. Goody bags for all entries. Dash plaques for the first 75 entries. Vehicles register on site for a fee of $10. Spectators are free.

Plein Air Art is open to any outdoor artist. The artists share the inspiration and camaraderie in working in an outdoor studio without boundaries or restrictions. The museum grounds offer a variety of subject matter which includes the beautiful gardens, its historic buildings and this year, cars. The public is invited to watch the artists work and ask about technique and media use. Artists must bring your own materials including easel and chair. The art program is free for artists and spectators.

All proceeds from this event benefit the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, located at 110 W. Fremont. Call 847-255-1225 or go to ahmuseum.org for more information.
