Girls golf

Carmel d. Stevenson: At Countryside Golf Club, Nikki Marquardt’s torrid start to the season continued, but the host Corsairs (177) edged out the Patriots by 1 stroke.

Marquardt, who committed to Eastern Michigan last week, fired a 3-under-par 33, as she tied an away-match school record for the Patriots. It was the senior’s second 33 of the season.

Carmel was paced by sophomore Kayla Ryan and senior Abbey Carpenter with 42s. The Corsairs also received a 46 from senior Sophie Butz and 47s from sophomore Eva Savovich and freshman Erin Kehoe. Carmel was without No. 2 Alexa Amato.

Stephanie Namkoong added a 44 for Stevenson (178).

Marian Central d. Grant: At Boone Creek Golf Club, the Hurricanes (193) won going away.

Kirsten Bank’s 53 paced Grant (231).
