Naperville’s Sourcebooks acquires Simple Truths

Naperville publisher Sourcebooks announced it has acquired Simple Truths, its largest purchase to date.

This is the 15th acquisition Sourcebooks has made since it ws established in 1987. Terms of the sale were not announced.

Simple Truths, also based in Naperville, publishes motivational and inspirational books that focus on spiritual themes and books that appeal to business readers about topics such as teamwork and sales techniques.

Dominique Raccah is the founder of Sourcebooks, a publisher producing books in a broad range of categories. In a recent Daily Herald interview with Raccah, she said the company has 100 employees and continues to grow.

She also said that this is the most exciting time at the company, since the invention of the printed book. The company is working on a lot of projects in digital publishing.

“The publishing industry itself is undergoing transformation. Sourcebooks recognized early that we were going to need to drive innovation and create new publishing models — models that better served our authors and our readers.”

She said the commitment to digital innovation has led to the expansion of its technology group.

The company continues to grow. Raccah said in the past year, 13 new positions were created.

Sourcebooks has been a leading provider of resources for college-bound students for over a decade, with best-sellers such as the No. 1 college guide, the Fiske Guide to Colleges.
