Friendship Village Welcomes Bridgewater Place Fountain

Friendship Village has completed construction on the Bridgewater Place Fountain. In addition to fulfilling a promise made to the charter residents of Bridgewater Place at Friendship Village, the fountain marks a major milestone for Friendship Senior Service Foundation which funded the project.

The fountain was part of the original concept of Bridgewater Place when the residences were added to Friendship Village in 2007. However it was value-engineered out with the idea of adding it back some time in the future.

Friendship Senior Service Foundation was established to create an environment that fosters philanthropic giving and volunteer service opportunities in support of Friendship Senior Option’s caring mission to serve the needs of older adults.

The Foundation stepped in to fund the fountain, which was completed earlier this month. Residents, guests, and associates witnessed the official start-up of the BWP Fountain. Friendship Senior Service Foundation Board Chairperson Darcy Davidsmeyer offered appreciative remarks for all those that participated in the capital campaign making the fountain as well as Friendship Village’s Secret Garden project possible.

“For all of our residents at Friendship Village, we’re proud to add our permanent mark on the campus with a new addition of the Bridgewater Place Fountain to our main entrance,” said Kate Garbarek, foundation manager of Friendship Senior Service Foundation. “We hope the completion of this and the Secret Garden later this fall, fuels our donors’ passion to make an impact on their communities through philanthropy.”
