Suspect charged with rape of 6th woman
A Woodstock man already accused of multiple sexual assaults has been charged in the rape of a sixth woman he met online.
The (Crystal Lake) Northwest Herald reported that McHenry County prosecutors filed new charges Tuesday against 45-year-old Charles R. Oliver of Woodstock.
They allege Oliver raped the woman in November 2012 after meeting her through an online escort service. They say he tied her up, pushed her down the stairs and forced her to have sex. She reported the assault to Loves Park police.
Oliver threatened the woman’s mother on Facebook afterward, authorities said.
Oliver’s attorney questions the woman’s account, saying she came forward after a “media blitz.”
Authorities say the assault was similar to five others for which Oliver already faced rape and kidnapping charges.
He’s held on $3.5 million bail.
