Ryan's Run to Support New Children's Activity Area at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital

Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital is pleased to announce a multi-year partnership with The Ryan Briere Foundation. Proceeds from Ryan's Run will support a dedicated activity area for pediatric patients at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital.

“We are honored that The Ryan Briere Foundation has chosen to support Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital,” said Peter Bower, director of philanthropy at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. “As plans for our new hospital are developed, this activity area will be a highlight for families and our pediatric patients, offering a place to relax and have fun outside of their hospital room, making their hospital stay a little easier.”

Ryan's Run will be held on Sunday, September 8 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at Century Park, 1001 Lakeview Parkway, in Vernon Hills, Ill. Registration begins at 8:00 am, the 5K run/walk begins at 9:00 am and the one-mile walk begins at 10:00 am. The race will begin at Century Park's sled hill, located on the north side of the park next to the Century Park Pavilion, where registration and family activities will take place.

Ryan's Run is a family-friendly event with activities for kids such as a magic show, inflatable bounce house, a balloon artist and more. While runners enjoy a scenic 5K run or walk around Big and Little Bear Lakes, families will be able to participate in the various activities. The first 500 registrants receive a t-shirt and runner's bag.

“We are thrilled to help Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital create a place of enjoyment, inspiration and healing for their young patients and to dedicate this space to our son Ryan,” said Frederick and Lori Briere, who established The Ryan Briere Foundation after Ryan passed away just 3 weeks shy of his 3rd birthday. “We thank all of the participants of Ryan's Run and our Foundation's supporters as, together, we take Ryan's bright and loving spirit out to benefit the children of our community.”
