Renner, St. Viator prevail in Barrington Invitational

Robert Renner earned medalist honors with a 74 on Monday at Biltmore Country Club, and his effort helped the Lions take top team honors by a single stroke in the Barrington Invitational.

St. Viator finished at 310 to edge host Barrington (311); Crystal Lake Central (329) finished third on the par 71 layout.

The Lions also counted scores from Nick Carlson (78), Liam Warner (78) and John Carlson (80).

Barrington got a team-best 76 from Tom Calbi plus a 77 from Cole Kempinski, a 78 from Burke Barsamian and an 80 from Brad Powell.

Calbi finished third individually, a stroke behind Ethan Farnam of Prairie Ridge.

The top finisher for Hersey was Kenny Mleko at 78.
