Rockford Art Museum marks 100 years

ROCKFORD — Rockford Art Museum is celebrating 100 years with a showcase of works from its permanent collection.

The Rockford Register Star reports () that the show “Through the Ages: 100 Years of RAM” opened Saturday. It will be on display through Jan. 26 and includes paintings, prints, drawings, photos and sculpture. The museum has a permanent collection of more than 1,700 pieces.

The collection includes modern and contemporary American art from the 19th and 20th centuries through the present. The museum also has an emphasis on Illinois artists.
