Sky at Mystics
Chicago Sky (17-8) at Washington Mystics (12-14)
When: 6 p.m., today
Where: Verizon Center
TV: The U Too
Last time: On Sunday, the Sky defeated the visiting Connecticut Sun, 89-78 and the Mystics lost to the host Atlanta Dream, 76-58.
Skinny: The Sky is looking to get off to a quick start after sleepwalking into its last two games. Although the Sky won in Seattle and took care of Connecticut at Allstate Arena, both games required massive comebacks from double-digit second-half deficits…Center Sylvia Fowles came up big in both comebacks. Her 20-point, 21-rebound effort against the Sun made her the first player in WNBA history to notch two 20/20 games in one season. She was named the Eastern Conference player of the week on Monday…The Sky has won four of five games and has a 2 ½-game lead in the East over second-place Atlanta…The Mystics, who have won three of their last four, sit in third place in the East. But 17 turnovers did them in during Sunday’s loss to the Dream…Guard Ivory Latta can be a handful and a dangerous threat from long range. She hit two 3-pointers for the Mystics against Atlanta.
Next: New York Liberty at Sky, 7:30 p.m. Friday
