Arts in Bartlett sponsoring birdhouse competition

Arts in Bartlett is sponsoring a Decorate a Birdhouse competition for the annual Heritage Days Festival Sept. 7-8. Birdhouses of any size or material, store-bought or handmade, will be accepted. The contest is open to all ages and entries can be designed by individuals, families or groups. The winners in the three categories -- best themed, Bartlett heritage and most creative -- will get a ribbon, certificate and free one-year membership to Arts in Bartlett. Submissions need to be set up at the park at Railroad and Main streets from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Sept. 7. Judging will begin at 2:30 p.m. and conclude with an award ceremony. After Heritage Days, the birdhouses will be auctioned to raise money for an Arts in Bartlett scholarship and budding talent grant. Visit or call Rita Lopienski at (630) 956-8814.
