Lindenhurst treasurer honored for 50 years of service

Lindenhurst recently honored village Treasurer Art Neubauer for 50 years of service by designating Aug. 12 as “Arthur L. Neubauer Day.” The lifelong Lindenhurst resident was appointed treasurer in 1963 and is the longest serving village officer in the community’s history. He served as grand marshal of the 2013 Lindenhurst parade and also was recognized in 2006 for his civic commitment when the village board dedicated the name of the main street in Heritage Park as Neubauer Circle. Neubauer has been married to his wife, Donna, for 57 years. They have four children, 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
