Preservation grants available in Aurora

Aurora homeowners who want funding help to preserve historic or architecturally significant residential structures may apply for the 2013 cycle of the city’s Preservation Matching Grant Program by 5 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Planning & Zoning Division.

The program is a 50/50 reimbursable matching grant for exterior historic restoration projects. Properties must be designated as historic within the city of Aurora and meet all other eligibility requirements. The program guidelines and application are available by contacting COAPlanning@aurora-il. org or by calling (630) 256-3080. The material can also be picked up at the Planning & Zoning offices, 1 S. Broadway; or requested by mail to 44 E. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL, 60505, to the attention of Planning and Zoning. The forms are also available on the city’s website at www.aurora-il.org.
