Go for the gold at Schaumburg Park District’s annual Silver Games

Schaumburg Park District, Friendship Village of Schaumburg, Dundee Township Park District and Campanelli YMCA are teaming up for four sports-packed days for seniors.

The sixth annual Silver Games competition for ages 62 and older will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, to Friday, Sept. 13, at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, and Friendship Village, 350 W. Schaumburg Road.

“The seniors always enjoy themselves during the games so we try to make it bigger and better each year,” said Lisa Perrone, senior center supervisor for the Schaumburg Park District.

The friendly senior competition includes Baggo, pool, a fun walk, free throws, Ping-Pong, poker, Wii, floor hockey, water volleyball, a water walk, darts and other great games. A spaghetti dinner and bingo will close the event on Friday, Sept. 13.

Registration is available at the Senior Center, located inside the Community Recreation Center, and Friendship Village. Registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 23. Cost is $10. Additional fees include $15 for golf and $15 for the spaghetti dinner.
