Cook County property tax appeal workshops coming

A free property tax workshop for residents of Wheeling Township will be held on Monday, Aug. 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Chevy Chase Country Club at 1000 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Wheeling. Representatives from the Cook County Assessor’s Office will be available to explain the residential property assessment and appeal process, as well as assist residents in appealing their property tax bills. The last day to file an appeal in Wheeling Township is Aug. 14. A second workshop, this one for Elk Grove Township and conducted by Dan Patlak of the Cook County Board of Review, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Elk Grove Township Office, 2400 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. The event is free. Please bring your property tax bill to the event.
