Cars can’t rely solely on powered gadgets

On the front page July 26, there is a sad story about a man who had to die only because there was no way to break anything in his car to rescue him. No manual option everything was power driven. What a senseless death.

Could you appeal to all auto manufacturers to have manual option in all cars and not to rely solely on technology and electronics? Unfortunately all smart gadgets will never replace a man’s power. However, auto designers and manufacturers’ vision is overwhelmed by gadgets and not by safety. They do not realize that when the power is out, all the power features in the cars do not work. Thus there must be a manual override in each car in case one cannot open anything in the car because of no power.

A man who wanted to rescue another man dying in the car could not help him because there was no power in the car, and could only be a witness of his senseless death. There will be a black box and more gadgets soon in all cars. Where is manual option everywhere? They could get data how much the man struggled to open any window or any door, but it would be too late.

There must be manual option for all electronic and everything that is power driven.
