4 charged in videotaped beating of woman

Four Chicago residents have been charged in a beating woman that prosecutors say was videotaped and posted on Facebook.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the three women and one man were formally charged with aggravated battery. A judge set bail for each of them that ranged from $100,000 to $225,000.

Prosecutors say the victim and the four suspects were all at a party on Chicago’s South Side on July 27 when one of the suspects, 29-year-old Robert R. Booker Jr., dragged her outside. There, the three women beat her. Authorities say one of the suspects, 27-year-old Tondalaya Ward, used an aluminum baseball bat to beat the woman.

The other two suspects are 27-year-old Vanee Newsome and 21-year-old Sharavia Ward.

None of the four had listed telephone numbers.
