Prospect Heights to mark National Night Out

The Prospect Heights police and fire departments and park district are teaming up to host this year’s National Night Out event Tuesday, Aug. 6. National Night Out is a family-friendly program inviting the public to join law enforcement and emergency services personnel at a gathering at Lions Park Pool at the Prospect Heights Park District to help promote crime prevention, fire safety, police-community partnerships, and neighborhood camaraderie. “This is a great program which the police department looks forward to each year,” said Prospect Heights Police Chief Jamie Dunne. “It gives our residents a chance to interact with emergency services personnel in a fun environment. We want the community to know that we are here to work hand in hand with the residents to help keep our neighborhoods safe and to take a stand against crime in the community.” The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lions Park Pool, 110 W. Camp McDonald Road. All ages are welcome.
