Aug. 23 to Sept. 29: ‘FLEX: 3-D 12 Sculpture Group’ exhibit at CLC

A new sculpture exhibit called FLEX: 3-D 12 Sculpture Group will run from Aug. 23 to Sept. 29 at the College of Lake County’s Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art.

The exhibit features the sculptural works of seven Chicago area artists who explore the innovative use of wide variety of materials such as found objects, salvaged wood, steel or bronze. The artists are Peter N. Gray, Alan Emerson Hicks, Ruyell Ho, Beth Kamhi, Mimi Peterson, Eric H. Steele and Michelle Stone.

An opening reception will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, with music by Rick Embach & Jim Seidel Duo. The reception is free and open to the public.

Patrons should enter through the C Wing and proceed toward the Library/Learning Resource Center. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

The Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art on the Grayslake campus is a project of the College of Lake County Foundation and is located at 19351 W. Washington St. Established by the CLC Foundation in 1981, the gallery is committed to displaying the works of Illinois artists and increasing the visibility of nationally known artists in Lake County.
