Two women arrested in Waukegan undercover operation

Two women have been arrested by Waukegan Police during an undercover neighborhood crime operation, authorities said Friday.

Tammy Traux, 52, with no home address, was charged with prostitution, resisting a peace officer, and unlawful possession of open alcohol following her arrest Wednesday night, authorities said.

Authorities also charged Crystal Reinhardt, 27, of the 38000 block of North Shore Avenue in Beach Park, with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and resisting a peace officer.

Authorities said the Waukegan Neighborhood Policing Unit has received multiple complaints of possible prostitution activity on Grand Avenue between Jackson Street and Butrick Avenue. The undercover operation was conducted to curb the problem, officials said.

Traux, who also had an outstanding warrant through the Lake County Sheriff's Office, and Reinhardt are held in Lake County jail pending future court dates.

Waukegan Police urge residents to call the department's 24-hour tip hotline at (847) 856-6444 when they witness suspicious activity. Callers will remain anonymous and not be contacted unless they specifically ask for a return call.

Crystal Reinhardt, 27, 38000 block of North Shore Ave. Beach Park, IL. busted for possession and resisting.
