Bears mistaken on Cutler backup

Where is the contingency plan if Jay Cutler fails this year? If this is truly his make-or-break year, then why isn’t there anybody currently on the roster to replace him?

Maybe management thinks having a capable replacement would be bad for his psyche, and that him being in the final year of his contract should be motivation enough.

However, if he leaves, finding a replacement, having him learn the offense (and being able to successfully run it) could take a couple of years to groom a replacement. The Bears might then be forced to try to re-sign Cutler at a rate of his choosing. The Bears are making a big mistake not having a potential starting caliber QB on their current roster.
