Hiding under Jennifer McClures cape, is her son Aidan, 5, as they head back to their campsite at Elgin Community Colleges Relay for Life event in June. The McClure family, of South Elgin, all donned capes for the event, which they have participated in for the past five years. Jennifer lost her aunt to lung cancer. Relay for Life events bring me to tears every time I cover them, as cancer has affected my family as well. So this little moment brought me a smile and helped lighten my heart for a few seconds. Students and teachers from EduCare in St. Charles take a moment to pet a couple new cows or calfs during a visit to Primrose Farm in St. Charles Wednesday, to learn more about life on a 1930s circa farm. The kids investigated the livestock and also were treated to a wagon ride through the park.
