Time to vote for Suburban Chicago's Got Talent

The 16 remaining acts in Suburban Chicago's Got Talent have performed yet again, and now it's your turn to help decide who moves on in the summer long talent competition.

Online voting starts at 9 a.m. today at dailyherald.com/contest/talent. So head to the Daily Herald website, watch videos of the acts and then vote for your favorites — as often as you'd like.

Voting closes at 9 a.m. Friday.

Why vote? Well, the act with the most votes will automatically gain a berth among the Top 10 finalists.

The judges and live audience cast their votes Sunday for the most recent round of the contest, which is presented by the Daily Herald, produced by the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre and sponsored by the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce.

Another round of online voting will run Tuesday, Aug. 6, to Friday, Aug. 9, following the Top 10 finalists' performances at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Metropolis. The Fan Favorite with the largest tallies from the two rounds of online voting will win a Funjet Vacation for two.

Both the Fan Favorite and the overall winner of Suburban Chicago's Got Talent will be announced Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Taste of Arlington Heights. The top prize is an expenses-paid trip to audition for producers of NBC's “America's Got Talent.”

Last year, the beatboxing duo iLLest Vocals (comprised of Shawn Kurian and Sanu John) won both the Fan Favorite and top prize of Suburban Chicago's Got Talent.
