A lot of thanks for BG Arts Fest success

A huge thanks to the artists, volunteers and the community for coming out to support our 12th annual Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Arts Festival last weekend.

We were treated to a variety of artistic mediums and given the opportunity to interact with gifted artists. We appreciate Village President Jeffrey Braiman and our trustees’ commitment to the arts and for providing us the opportunity.

We are also grateful to Howard Green and the Buffalo Grove Jazz Band who performed at the Rotary to kick off our festival.

It was especially a treat to have a fabulous cadre of adult volunteers augmented by incredible Stevenson High School students whose “can-do” spirit and enthusiasm was a delight. Our artists were particularly pleased with the support that they were given — they were kept hydrated, given breaks and appreciated the general hospitality and friendliness.

We wish to thank our local businesses: Walgreens; Buffalo Grove Bank and Trust; Jewel; The Continental; Sam’s; Wal-Mart; Target; Dunkin’ Donuts; Original Bagel and Bialy; Dorfler’s; Pavilion Restaurant.  A huge thank you to Arthur Rogers & Company and Sanders Court Pediatrics for their generous sponsorship.

All of this was coordinated by our wonderful village liaison, Carol Berman and assisted by a very hardworking Arts Commission who made certain the festival ran flawlessly.

I would like to thank the Commission for Residents with Disabilities who staffed golf carts for patrons needing assistance, as well as the Emergency Management Agency and Community Emergency Response Team for their contributions to everyone’s safety.

Finally, to all the village staff who contributed to the setup and tear down of the festival, we are greatly appreciative.

Again, thank you for the community support that was apparent to artists who continually proclaim that our festival is the best they ever attend!

Linda Rosen, chairwoman

Buffalo Grove Arts Commission
