United Way of Central Kane County appoints board members

The United Way of Central Kane County appointed two new board members and elected new leadership during its annual board of director’s meeting.

Scott Wood was re-elected as board president as well as Ed Brooks, vice president of campaign. Tom Shaw was elected as secretary and Mark Mooney as vice president of finance.

The United Way of Central Kane County Board of directors appointed Ken Peters, area manager, customer information services at AT&T; and Corey Clark, vice president of commercial banking at St. Charles Bank and Trust as new board members. Both of these individuals offer a wealth of experience and commitment to United Way.

“The United Way of Central Kane County is committed to making a real difference in the lives of the people who live and work in the communities of St. Charles, Elburn, La Fox, Kaneville, Campton Hills, Geneva, and Wasco,” Wood said. “This is the time of renewed energy to continue this commitment. The Board, Staff, and I are looking forward to building our agency’s legacy of caring and compassion in meeting the growing needs in our communities.”

The 27 United Way member agencies’ 35 programs provide mental health, rehabilitation, youth activities, health care, domestic violence, and elderly support throughout central Kane County. The United Way of Central Kane County is a not for profit, philanthropic corporation dedicated to addressing community needs by strengthening local service agencies and collecting and distributing voluntary contributions that support those agencies.
