Antioch’s annual Taste of Summer runs Thursday through Sunday

Antioch’s 2013 Taste of Summer Festival brings new menu items and exhibitor area, while Antioch Idol for Scholarships comes back for its second year.

The village’s huge summer festival will celebrate its 23rd year in downtown Antioch. The Taste of Summer offers food, entertainment, a carnival, sidewalk sales, and other activities that make up this four-day event Thursday, July 18, to Sunday, July 21.

There will be no public parking at the Taste, but there is plenty of parking around Antioch. Plan on parking and strolling through the downtown area while browsing through townwide sidewalk sales.

Join the fun with Antioch Idol, which provides scholarships for vocally talented students. Scholarships can be used toward any future education.

Each night the Taste provides great headline entertainment. The Taste will enjoy new, extended hours in 2013, opening at noon each day.

Headline entertainment includes:

타 Thursday, July 18: BBI LIVE from 7-10 p.m.

타 Friday, July 19: Hi-Infidelity from 8-11 p.m.

타 Saturday, July 20: Princess Cabaret from noon to 2 p.m., Antioch Idol for Scholarships from 4-7 p.m., then Modern Day Romeos from 8-11 p.m.

타 Sunday, July 21: 7th Heaven from 2-5 p.m.

Food booths will offer the consumer an array of foods and drinks featuring Mexican, Chinese, American, barbecue, and Italian food, and many others that will delight people with discriminating tastes.

Taste hours are noon to 10 p.m. Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The Taste prides itself with offering family-friendly entertainment in a safe, clean environment.
