Arlington Heights man charged with molesting girls

A 32-year-old Arlington Heights man has been charged with the predatory criminal sexual assault of two young girls.
Cook County Judge Jill Cerone Marisie on Friday set bail at $400,000 for Amado Tamayo, who prosecutors say molested the girls for three years beginning in 2010 when they were about 8 and 10 years old.
A school social worker alerted authorities that one of the girls was the victim of sexual abuse, Cook County sheriff’s reports indicate.
If convicted, Tamayo could face between six and 30 years in prison.
He next appears in court on Aug. 8.
