Danish Artist Gitte Bog Returns as Summer Visiting Artist to Complete “Sweet Home West Chicago” Project
The West Chicago City Museum welcomes Danish artist Gitte Bog on her return visit to West Chicago as the summer visiting artist. She will be in West Chicago through Sunday, July 14, 2013, completing her project “Sweet Home West Chicago.”
The public is invited to take part in a sweet exchange of ideas and thoughts by submitting a short, anonymous survey of their thoughts about West Chicago. The survey can by accessed either online, at www.surveymonkey.com/s/STV7ZX2, at the City Museum, 132 Main Street or during Railroad Days at Reed-Keppler Park, 129 W. National Street, from July 11 – 14, 2013, where Bog will be walking around the event. Participants and Museum visitors will receive a piece of candy with a survey answer wrapped inside. Bog’s project is part of the City Museum’s current display Chicago: The History of America’s Candy Capital, an exhibit from the Elmhurst Historical Museum, a department of the City of Elmhurst, Illinois, on display through August 24, 2013. The City Museum is open to the public Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 4:00 p.m. at 132 Main Street, West Chicago, IL 60185; admission is always free.
