CLC budget gains approval

College of Lake County board members have approved a budget for the 2013-14 academic season. Following a recent public hearing, the trustees approved an operating budget of $98.6 million. The balanced budget includes less than a 1 percent increase in expenditures over 2012-13, and maintains tuition at the same level. CLC board Chairman Amanda D. Howland praised Vice President David Agazzi and college staff for their efforts in putting together a balanced budget that holds the line on expenditures. “With many students and families still facing tough economic times, we made the decision to hold the line on tuition,” Howland said. “The administration looked hard at the budget to control expenses and live within our means.”
