Northwest Fourth-fest readies for second year

One of six Northwest suburban festivals to open on Wednesday, July 3, Northwest Fourth-Fest is held in the parking lot of the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates. On Tuesday, workers were busy setting up the carnival rides, for Wednesday first day, 6-10 p.m.

In its second year, Northwest Fourth-Fest is the newest Fourth of July festival in the suburbs, sponsored by Hoffman Estates, Elgin, Hanover Park and Hanover Township. It will run from July 3-7, and admission is free.
