Villa Park man faces child solicitation charges

A Villa Park man has been arrested on charges of trying to solicit a child online, police said Friday.
Timothy J. Stehle, 45, was arrested June 8 after investigators say he exchanged a series of electronic communications with an undercover Elmhurst police officer who was posing as a 15-year-old female.
Police said in a news release Stehle “solicited indecent liberties” and targeted Elmhurst juveniles on Craigslist.
They said the arrest was the result of the department’s efforts to prevent and detect computer-related crimes and sexual predatory-type offenses.
Stehle was formally charged with indecent solicitation of a child. He was taken into custody without incident and his bond was set at $100,000.
He is due in court July 9.
