City of Lights 10K run to be held July 4 in Aurora

Registration is open for the inaugural City of Lights 10K (6.2 miles) road running race to be held July 4, 2013 beginning in Phillips Park, Aurora.

The event begins at 7:00 am. The route will encompass city streets and part of the Virgil L. Gilman Trail. Online registration is available until July 2 at http://www.yourhealthvision.com/roadtrail-races.html Race day registration will be from 5:45 AM to 6:45 a.m. in Philips Park, 1000 Ray Moses Dr., Aurora, IL A short sleeve technical shirt is available for the first 200 registered runners. Shirts are available for race day registrants while supplies last.

Race fees are $30 thru June 30 and $35.00 until and during race day. Fox River Trail Runners and Chicago Area Runners Association member fees are $27.00 thru June 30 and $35.00 on race day.

There will be awards for the overall Male and Female winners, and the top three Male and Female in the following age groups: 19 & under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and up.
