Libertyville Group Cares for Orphans in Mexico

A team of 27 people, adults and families with junior high and high school kids from CrossLife Church, Libertyville, is currently in Monterrey Mexico. When you hear of families spending their summer vacations in Mexico, you may think of beaches in Cancun. Instead, these families have chosen to spend their vacation helping orphans in some of the poorest parts of the northern city of Monterrey. Working with an organization that is focused on orphan care, Back2Back Ministries, the CrossLife team is serving in several orphanages in the city. The team is providing materials, doing construction and spending time showing love to the children who are in such need of loving attention. On the trip so far they have visited Manatial De Amor Children's Home to play and spend time with the kids and begun work at a construction site.

Since 1997, Back2Back (http://back2back.org/) has been impacting the lives of children across the globe. Through the Back2Back 5-Point Child Development Plan, they strive to provide holistic care to each child they serve, meeting spiritual, physical, educational, emotional and social needs that they might overcome their life circumstances and break free from the cycle of generational poverty. Today, Back2Back provides care for today and hope for tomorrow to abandoned, orphaned and impoverished children in Mexico, Nigeria, India and Haiti. The care for today is accomplished in part through ministry teams (such as CrossLife Church), who visit year round and help provide basic necessities. Their staff stands back to back with the directors and national staff that serve daily in the children’s homes. They come alongside with physical, financial and human resources, encouragement, prayer, and training.
