City of West Chicago Accepting Nominations for Brilliance in Business Awards

West Chicago, Illinois: June 25, 2013 – The City of West Chicago is currently accepting nominations for its Brilliance in Business Awards. The award program was designed to acknowledge the efforts businesses are making on behalf of their objectives and those of greater benefit to the community. It also strives to bring awareness to the level of diversity, creativity and corporate citizenship that epitomizes so many West Chicago businesses.

One winner will be chosen in each of the following five categories:

• Small Business of the Year

• Community Service Award

• Economic Development Award

• Community Image Award

• Green Initiatives Award

“There is a lot of good work going on out there in our business community,” said City of West Chicago spokesperson Rosemary Mackey. “This program shines a light on some of these outstanding businesses who daily shape our community. I encourage everyone to give some thought to nominating a deserving West Chicago business.”

Residents, businesses, government agencies, organizations or City of West Chicago staff may nominate a business(s) for one or more award. Nominations may be submitted online through a link on the City's website or by mail. Information which includes a description of the criteria and eligibility requirements for each award, are available in the Nomination Packet, at City Hall, or by calling Rosemary Mackey at (630) 293-2200 x139. Businesses may nominate themselves. The deadline for nominations is September 6, 2013. An award ceremony is scheduled for November 2013.
