Dining events: TL's toasts summer with barbecue menu

TL's summer BBQ

Chef Shawn Li unveils his summer Asian barbecue menu available through July 31 at TL's Four Seasons. Sweet and tangy with hints of ginger, garlic, soy and sesame, dishes include marinated, slow-roasted pork served with steamed lotus buns ($6), a barbecued eel and cucumber sushi roll topped with avocado ($12), and barbecue pork fried rice ($8.50).

Elgin welcomes new Lou

Lou Malnati's Pizzeria has opened a new location in Elgin's Randall Road corridor. The restaurant is open seven days a week for carryout or delivery. Try Lou's June sandwich of the month — a Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich, a grilled chicken breast topped with spinach, goat cheese, tomato and red onion with balsamic vinaigrette served on focaccia with a light sun-dried tomato and basil mayo on the side.

Dog days at Wickets

Wickets unveils a new bar: the hot dog and brat topping bar. When you pick a $3 hot dog or $4 brat on Thursdays in July you can choose from 13 toppings including red onions, grilled onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, pickles, sport peppers, sauerkraut, relish, chili, cheese sauce, green olives, jalapeños and habanero peppers. Available at lunch or dinner.
