Pride ace Osterman handcuffs Bandits

Cat Osterman won her league-best fourth decision of the season, striking out 11 in a distance performance to spark the USSSA Pride to a 5-0 victory over the Chicago Bandits in the second of a four-game series in Rosemont on Friday night.

The win enabled the Pride (7-3) to regain a first-place tie with the Bandits (7-3) in the National Professional FastPitch softball league.

The Pride scored the only run that Osterman, who plans to retire after this season, needed in the fourth inning. Ashley Charters led off with a double and scored on Nikia Williams’ single.

The Pride’s Jenn Stalling blasted a grand slam in the sixth inning.

The teams meet again today at 7:35 p.m.
