Warrenville police investigating three home burglaries

Warrenville police are investigating three daytime burglaries in the city’s Summerlakes and Thornwilde neighborhoods.

Deputy Chief Tony Dutkovich said all three homes were burglarized during the early morning to early afternoon hours between May 31 and Tuesday.

Dutkovich said police have not determined if all three are related but said each involved the theft of “items that could easily be carried from the home, like cash and jewelry.”

Police would not provide specific details, but said all three homes were locked and entered forcefully by breaking windows or doors.

Police have received and are following up on several leads regarding a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood but a description of the vehicle was unavailable.

“We’re telling everyone to lock up their homes, cars and valuables and not to hesitate calling us if something feels or looks suspicious,” Dutkovich said. “You may think something is minor or insignificant but it may be the piece our detectives need.”

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call investigators at (630) 393-2131.
