New Lombard townhouse community opens model home

Fresh designs, adaptable space and attractive pricing beckon buyers to The Orchards, a new townhouse community in Lombard.

With wooded views and quiet cul-de-sacs, the development by M/I Homes showcases its Charlestown Series of three, two-story designs with two bedrooms, 1½ to 2½ baths and two-car attached garages.

“We are excited to be in Lombard with our newest community — The Orchards,” said Cheryl Bonk, vice president of sales and marketing for the Chicago division of M/I Homes.

“Our Braeden model showcases smart architecture and the newest design trends for today’s lifestyles. The fully finished English basement with a media room, game room and entertainment area is a big hit with everyone who visits,” Bonk said.

“Since our grand opening in March, sales have exceeded expectations, and homebuyers should move quickly because we are nearly 40 percent sold out.”

Situated off Route 53 south of North Avenue, The Orchards is near major highways including North Avenue (Route 64), I-88 and I-355, and convenient to several forest preserves.

Priced from $239,990, the Braeden features 1,755 square feet, two bedrooms, 2½ baths, an English basement and attached two-car garage. The model is shown with optional luxury master shower and optional owner’s sitting room in lieu of a loft.

A neutral palette with pops of green and tangerine creates a calm ambience in this luxury open floor plan with dark, wide-plank hardwood flooring.

With 9-foot ceilings on the main level, the great room, breakfast area and kitchen are shown as one multifunctional gathering space.

In this space, a wine bar with glass-fronted cabinets, shelves and seating create a small entertainment area while an array of comfortable seating accommodates guests.

Serving as a focal point, a stunning white wall of glass-fronted upper cabinetry presents a display of pretty dishes and glassware along with some books and decorative items.

A round table with upholstered chairs dishes up breakfast with views of the outdoors. Or for a quick bite, the breakfast bar features seats for three.

Seamlessly integrated into the space, the kitchen shines and sparkles with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a metallic tile backsplash. A curved island with sink facing guests allows the cook to be a part of the action.

The homeowner’s master suite offers a soothing ambience for winding down at day’s end with lightweight white draperies and soft teal walls that give the space a light, airy feel.

Columns define the adjacent sitting area that is sure to impress. The area features a fireplace flanked with cabinetry and a plasma TV above. Owners can relax in a comfortable chair and love seat while a coffee cart stands nearby.

The private bath shows dual sinks with a mirror that reaches the ceiling and an oversized spa shower with a seat, a variety of sprays and bath essentials.

The guest bedroom shows a mix of light and dark woods, cozy bedding and a large closet. The room has access to the second bath.

With a bar area, media room and game room, the lower level is outfitted for entertaining with pizazz.

Other designs include the Ainslie priced at $224,990 with 1,458 square feet, and the Campbell priced from $274,990 with 1,993 square feet.

To visit The Orchards, take I-355 and exit at North Ave heading east. At the first intersection (Route 53), turn right heading south, and continue for a half mile. Turn right on Pleasant Lane. Take the second left onto Buckingham Court to the sales office and model.

The sales center is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Monday. For more information, call (630) 790-6400 or visit mihomes.com.
