Boomers’ six-game winning streak snapped

The Schaumburg Boomers saw their franchise record six-game winning streak snapped in a 4-1 loss to the visiting Frontier Greys at Boomers Stadium on Thursday night.

The Greys never trailed, opening a 1-0 lead on a solo homer by J.J. Muse — the only run allowed by spot starter Matt Kuna over 5 innings in a no-decision.

The Boomers (19-12) evened the game on Brian McConkey’ RBI single in the fourth, but the Greys scored three times against Dan Lazzaroni in the sixth.

McConkey finished with 2 of the Boomers’ 5 hits.

The Boomers host the Lake Erie Crushers for a three-game series starting today at 6:30 p.m. Boomers right-hander Chris Phelan (3-0, 2.13) will oppose righty Alex Kaminsky (2-3, 5.91).
