Konen Insurance to mark 50 years with open house

Aurora-based Konen Insurance Inc., a family-owned business serving the Fox Valley area, welcomes customers, neighbors and friends to an open house making the company’s 50th anniversary.

The open house is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. June 27 at the agency, 2570 Beverly Drive, Suite 100, in Aurora.

Joining invited dignitaries and clients will be Vince Konen, who founded the company in 1963. Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner is also expected to attend.

“Observing our 50 years in business gives us a great opportunity to thank the people who have made it all possible, especially our loyal clients,” said Jerry Knudtson, president of Konen Insurance. “We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our clients, friends, colleagues and other members of the Fox Valley business community.”

Brian Konen, vice president, said the business has changed and grown from the one-man agency his dad started to a 17-employee, $10-million, mid-sized brokerage, offering home and auto policies for individuals, as well as a full range of business insurance and employee benefits.

“What’s never changed is our focus on building trusting relationships with our clients and in the communities we serve,” Konen said. “We help our clients research the available choices and present them with options to meet their coverage and budgetary needs.
